In short: A viewing is your chance to spot problems before you commit. Look for damp, mould and cracks, the condition of the roof, gutters and windows, the age of the boiler and electrics, water pressure and mobile signal. Visit at different times to judge noise, light and parking. Ask why the owner is selling, how long they've lived there, what's included, the council tax band and running costs, and about any disputes or planned works. For flats, ask about service charges and the lease.
