Did you know there are two stations in northeast London called Tottenham Hale? It’s the one on the Thameslink service from central London to north Kent. To get there, take the W9 bus towards High Road. Change at Waltham Cross and ask the driver for an onward connection at Wigmore Lane. The station also has a car park (fee), so check before you travel. If driving, it’s off the A1020 High Road between Turnpike Lane and Wood Green. You’ll then see it after going under a bridge and turning right at a petrol station with a long walkway to its left. Get here by train from Moorgate or Finsbury Park: both are on the Northern Line, change at Highbury & Islington and go to the final stop at Alexandra Palace; transfer to another train for Alexandra Palace station, which is above ground; then walk across the bridge over Holloway road and turn right into Alexandra Road East until you reach Waltham Road; cross over that road, take a left onto Burdett Road and follow it until you find Thornend Road on your right. If you’re driving to Tottenham Hale, follow the A1020 High Road, passing Turnpike Lane and Wood Green. There’s a train station car park on your right and the station is on your left. Notice that the High Road is one way for motor vehicles and the entrance to the car park is on the other side of the road.
Tottenham Hale station is accessible by foot and cycle from Walthamstow, Waltham Cross, Wood Green, and Highams Park. From Walthamstow, turn left out of Walthamstow Central and follow the pedestrian footpath to Tottenham Hale station which is a 5-10 minute walk away. From Waltham Cross, take the pedestrian footpath on the right-hand side of the roundabout. From Wood Green, walk along the High Road towards the station. From Highams Park, walk towards the High Road and turn right.
Before you travel, make sure you plan your journey using the National Rail journey planner, and be aware that some trains may arrive at a different station. - Tottenham Hale is also served by the Overground and Thameslink trains on the East London Line between New Cross Gate and Sevenoaks via London Bridge and Central London. - Tottenham Hale is also served by Southern trains between London Victoria and Milton Keynes Central. - If you’re travelling between central London and Milton Keynes, you may want to consider switching to the faster Virgin Trains service from London Euston to Milton Keynes Central. - Tottenham Hale is served by the London Underground Northern Line, but it’s a transfer (3 stops) from central London unless you’re travelling to the final destination of Alexandra Palace. - Travelling by public transport can take longer than driving, so make sure you factor in travel time. - Tottenham Hale is a large station with connections to many other modes of transport.
