In short: Wheelchair accessible rentals are in short supply, so define your essential features (step-free entry, lift access, door widths, turning space, accessible bathroom) and search with them in mind. Tenants can request adaptations; landlords must not unreasonably refuse certain disability-related changes, and Disabled Facilities Grants can help fund work.
