London City Island offers a dedicated, secure indoor car park located beneath the development, accessible via a basement undercroft. Entry is controlled by fob access and subject to permit allocation.
Spaces are not automatically guaranteed with purchase of a flat — availability is limited, and allocation is managed by the developer or onsite management agent.
Owners wishing to secure a space must make application through the development’s management, often as part of the lease or via a separate parking agreement. Fraser Bond can assist owners in negotiating and securing these privileges where possible.
In addition to on-site private parking, London City Island employs a residents’ parking permit scheme for owner-occupiers. Permit fees range from approximately £10 to £186 annually, depending on engine size, CO₂ emissions, and vehicle type.
A diesel surcharge of around £25 may also apply under the scheme.
These permits allow the use of on-site or associated parking infrastructure, not general street parking. Owners should check their lease or parking terms to confirm the precise permit type, permitted locations, and any restrictions.
If on-site capacity is exhausted or no space allocation is available, owners can consider alternative nearby parking options:
Adjacent developments / Goodluck Hope: Nearby schemes sometimes offer surplus parking spaces which may be available via permit or rental arrangements, subject to fob access and permit eligibility.
Private car parks or managed parking operators: Platforms like YourParkingSpace may occasionally list spaces near City Island for lease.
Short-term or visitor parking: Some marked bays on Gotts Road permit up to one hour of parking (8 am to 6 pm, Mon–Sat) by non-residents, but these are limited and subject to local traffic control.
Owners must adhere to London’s general parking regulations:
Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs): Many London roads operate under CPZ rules, meaning only permit holders or valid pay-and-display users may park during restricted hours.
Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE): Parking contraventions are enforced civilly by local councils, issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for breaches.
Fines & removal: Illegally parked vehicles may incur fines up to £160, and in some cases be clamped or towed, with additional costs.
Street restrictions: Double yellow lines, loading bays, or other road markings may prohibit parking at certain times — owners must observe all signage.
As a reminder, owning a leasehold in City Island does not exempt residents from these broader rules.
