How Do You Get a Companies House Personal Code?
Identity verification can be completed through the Companies House online service using GOV.UK One Login, or through an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP). An ACSP is a professional organisation authorised by Companies House to carry out identity verification.
After successful verification, Companies House issues the personal code. When an ACSP completes the verification, Companies House sends the code to the individual by email.
Using Your Personal Code for Company Compliance
Once received, the personal code may need to be supplied for specific company filings and role-related requirements.
For example, directors need to provide their codes as part of the company's confirmation statement process. A new director also needs to provide the code when completing the appointment process.
If someone is both a director and a PSC of the same company, the personal code must be provided separately for each role.
