In short: USDT (Tether) is different from Bitcoin because its issuer can freeze tokens at specific wallet addresses. Tether has frozen large sums linked to fraud, usually at the request of law enforcement. That means fast reporting matters: get your transaction hashes, the scammer's address and the network (most scam USDT moves on TRON, TRC-20, or Ethereum, ERC-20), report to the police straight away and ask them to contact Tether. If the USDT reaches an exchange, report it to that exchange too. Ignore anyone who offers to "unfreeze" or recover it for a fee.
