First homerenting tips
In short: Young people have specific housing support. Homeless 16 and 17-year-olds should normally be supported by children's services. Care leavers get help from their council, including a personal adviser up to age 25. Single people under 35 usually get Universal Credit housing help at the lower shared accommodation rate, with exemptions such as care leavers under 25. Many young renters use a guarantor or a council rent deposit scheme. Fraser Bond helps first-time renters find rooms and flats, and no landlord can refuse you for receiving benefits.
